This week’s challenge at A Blog Named Hero is Small Scale! The idea is that you work in a small area. You could stamp on an ATC-sized piece (2.5″x3.5″) and add it to a larger card or make a tag or just confine your workspace to a corner of a card. Be creative! We look forward to seeing how you interpret the challenge!
Here’s my card! I started off by cutting a piece of watercolor paper into 2, 2.5, and 3 inch squares. Then I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy cardstock into three squares an 1/8 of an inch larger than the watercolor pieces.
Next I laid out the flower stamp from Night and Day Flowers onto the largest watercolor square until I had it where I wanted it. Then I pressed the stamp onto my M.I.S.T.I. (LOVE that tool!!) so that I would be able to line it up exactly each time I stamped it.
I used distress markers to color the stamp. I colored each flower with Spun Sugar and then went over the center with Picked Raspberry. I colored the stems and leaves with Mowed Lawn. Before I closed the M.I.S.T.I. I sprayed the stamp with water to get that watercolor look. I stamped each watercolor square individually rather than trying to stamp them all at once.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Hello Flowers with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink. Then I layered the watercolor pieces with the pink frames and adhered them together with a glue runner. To finish the card I adhered the layered piece to a top folding standard A2 card of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.
Here’s a closer look at the layered piece…I love the soft look of the distress markers!
Head on over and see what the rest of the team created! The challenge is open until February 19th and we look forward to seeing your creations!
As always our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, is awarding a $25 gift voucher to a random entry!
I’m also entering this into the Hero Arts Nature challenge! Thanks for visiting!

So elegant, smart and nice. A very beautiful way of using pink without being too romantic. I love it!
