Good morning! The Chibitronics design team is collaborating with Winnie & Walter today and we’re celebrating with a big blog hop and giveaways! You can find the hop list and giveaway details at the bottom of my post but here’s what I created!
Ha, my card might need a little explanation to anyone who’s never played with a cat and a laser pointer! My cat, in particular, LOVES the laser pointer and she does that iconic cat butt wiggle whenever we get it out and flash it on the wall. So I thought it’d be fun to have that laser “dot” on the wall with a pair of “wiggling” cats!
I started by stamping all the elements from Purrfect onto white cardstock with copic-friendly ink. I colored them with copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and spectrum noir clear sparkle. I also added a little liquid adhesive to the dangly on the cat tree and added chunky and fine glitter to make it sparkly! I also stamped a second cat tree and colored the bottom shelf and fussy cut it so that I could make a wider area for my cat pair to sit.
Next I took a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock and blended abandoned coral, dried marigold, and peacock feathers distress ink onto the panel. I spritzed it with water and blotted off the excess water. After it dried I stamped the sentiment and music notes from Party On to the panel with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I poked a small hole where I wanted the light to shine.
I created a basic circuit and adhered a red LED light to mimic the look of a laser pointer. Then I used a double layer of foam mounting tape to build up a border around the battery and light and then adhered the ink blended panel over it. I adhered the cat tree and toys to the card with regular adhesive. The yarn and mouse are adhered over the battery and when pressed the light turns on. Finally I adhered the cats with a mini action wobbler!
It’s a rather simple use of the Chibitronics LED light stickers but I think a very effective one for cat-lovers! 🙂
To celebrate the hop we have prizes for two lucky random commenters! Winnie & Walter is giving away a $30 gift certificate and Chibitronics is giving away a $30 starter kit so leave a comment on each hop stop for the most chances to win!! Leave your comments before 11:59 PM CST on May 29th and the winners will be announced on the Chibitronics and Winnie & Walter blogs! You should have arrived from the Chibitronics blog and Eiko is your next stop!

Such a cute use of Chibitronics and first time I’ve seen a red bulb used. Your coloring and ink blending are always beautifully done and I love seeing all the elements you use to create scenes. And I had a cat that loved pointers, too.
