Good morning! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we’re challenging you to create a card using your oldest Lawn Fawn set! So dust off your old sets and give them some love! Over the years I’ve destashed some of my older sets to make room for new sets but I think the very first Lawn Fawn set I ever owned was Critters in the Sea which was released in 2010! I don’t have that one anymore but I do have Critters Down Under which was released in 2012! Here’s what I created with it:
I wanted to combine some newer products with the older stamp set to create a pop-up box card! I started by stamping the images from Critters Down Under on cardstock with copic-friendly intense black ink and then colored them with copics before using my ScanNCut to cut them out. When I first started crafting I didn’t own a die-cutting machine so I had to rely on fussy cutting all my stamped images…thank goodness for the ScanNCut now! 😉
I added some accents with a white gel pen and then set them aside while I assembled their “habitat!” I die-cut the box from white cardstock and then used the Knock on Wood patterned paper for the stitched decorative panels. Next I stamped the sentiment from Critters on the Savannah (another old set) with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I also die-cut the Grassy Hillside Borders from three shades of green cardstock and adhered them inside the shadow box. I also die-cut the background sky for the shadow box from the Watercolor Wishes paper pad and added a bright yellow sun from the Spring Showers die set! Finally it was time to add my critters!
I wanted to create a dimensional scene so I added the various elements in different layers which really makes the scene come to life! At least I think it does! 😉 And my favorite part of this whole project…the freaking adorable kookaburra! 😉 Isn’t he cute?
And now it’s your turn! We want to see your creations using those classic Lawn Fawn sets!! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing Monday!
