Good morning!! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we’re challenging you to use this beautiful springtime moodboard as your inspiration! I decided to focus on the colors from the grassy image and the water images as my inspiration!
This new release totally has my heart! I know I say that every release but oh my goodness, rollercoaster foxes, bunnies, and bears!?! Bestill my heart! 🙂 To start I created my background inspired by the inspiration board! I smooshed twisted citron, lucky clover, salty ocean, and blueprint sketch distress ink onto acetate, spritzed it with water, and pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I held it in place for 20 seconds to give the ink time to soak into the paper and then lifted the acetate and blotted off any excess ink. I spritzed it with water, blotted off the excess drops, and then set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
I stamped the coaster, critters, balloons, and cars onto white cardstock with copic-friendly ink and colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped the sentiment from Coaster Critters onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it to a fishtail banner and then cut a similarly shaped banner from white cardstock. Once the background was dry I die-cut the slider curve from the panel and reserved the die-cut piece.
Next I adhered the distress ink panel to a white card base with a double layer of foam mounting tape. I used regular adhesive to puzzle-piece the reserved slider die cut into place and then added the extra roller coaster hill underneath the panel. In hindsight I should have cut off the top of the extra hill to adhere to the distress ink panel…oops. It’s the magically disappearing hill. Ha. I adhered my critters to the individual coaster cars then added pennies and a double layer of foam tape to each car and tucked them into the slider channel to create three individually moving cars. I layered the two fishtail banners and adhered them to the bottom of the card. At this point I also decided to stamp, color, and die-cut the balloons and cotton candy for some fun little scene extras! Finally I added white gel pen accents, a little spectrum noir clear sparkle, and some tonic crystal glaze to the wheel hubcaps, the cotton candy, and the balloons.
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see how the moodboard inspires you!! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
