Challenge #125, sponsored by Ellen Hutson, is to create a black and white project with a splash of color! One lucky winner will win a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!
And here’s how I added a splash of color!
I LOVE the Year Six stamp set from Lawn Fawn but thought my shellfish needed a little shiny pearl! 😉
I stamped my sentiment and shellfish with versafine on a piece of white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear powder. Then I colored my shellfish with grey copics (I decided to bend the black and white rule just a bit 😉 ). Next I colored a scrap of cardstock with purple copic markers and my colorless blender. Once it looked a little pearly I used a hole punch to cut out a circle. I added a LOT of spectrum noir clear sparkle and then covered it with a layer of glossy accents. I let the glossy accents dry overnight and then added another layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle and another layer of glossy accents for more sparkle and more dimension!
It might not look totally realistic but it’s a cool effect! To finish my card I trimmed the sides and added a frame of black cardstock and then mounted it to a coordinating purple card base!
