Hooray!! It’s time to kick off the 2016 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! As a member of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Design Team I get to celebrate coffee and cards all the time but the hops are extra special to me! I love seeing everyone’s creations and the enthusiasm and excitement in our Facebook group! Here are some general details for the hop!
STARTS: 9:00 AM EST Friday, March 18
ENDS: 2:59 AM EST Saturday, March 26
THEME: spring
USE: coffee, tea &/or cocoa images
We have over 50 sponsors for this blog hop!! Make sure you take the time to stop by each of the blogs as you never know what you’ll find in inspiration and surprises! You can also play along yourself and create a coffee-themed project of your own! There are no limits to the number of entries–the more the merrier.
Flash Sponsor Prizes will be announced on FB on the evening of Wednesday, March 23rd and Friday, March 25th. That means, if you want to be eligible for a Flash Prize, you’ll want to link up before 8 PM EST on the respective dates. (Please note that if you are a winner and not on FB, you will receive an email prize confirmation.)
All Super Sponsor Prizes along with Flash Prizes will be announced on the blog, Sunday, March 27th.
For blogs that link up with blog candy, please contact your winner directly.
Resources:
Flickr <– feel free to add your projects to this group!
Pinterest <– All projects will be pinned!
Facebook <– Please note that this is a secret group because of all the coffee vendors that were trying to be members. Anyone that is a current member of the FB group can add you or contact me directly.
Instagram <– follow along in the fun!
Social media hashtag: #SpringCLH (Facebook) / #SpringCLH (Instagram)
Anyone is eligible for a Super Sponsor/Flash prize if they link up a newly created SPRING Themed Coffee, Tea &/or Cocoa project, no back-linking please. Random.org is used to draw for winners.
We ask all Super Sponsors and participants to turn off word verification. Please note that there is an annoying glitch with blogger. Even if a person does not have word verification, it still shows up. You can ignore it because it really isn’t working as a true word verification. If someone actually has word verification, it will give you an error message. <–We shouldn’t have to worry about that because everyone will have it turned off. 😉 One way to get around this is to ‘embed’ the comment box (settings/posts & comments/comments/comment location/embedded).
We encourage commenting on all projects that link up for the hop. Please note that it makes it difficult for commenters if you post to a gallery that needs a login/password.
When I was planning my card I decided to use the hop logo as inspiration for a spring-themed coffee card!
I decided to use my coffee mug to hold flowers instead of coffee! 😉 I used a mix of many different companies for this card and I love how they all worked together!
I started by using a piece of acetate to smoosh Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon, and Picked Raspberry distress ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and let it dry. Once it was totally dry I added a few spritzes of shimmer spray. Next I die-cut the mug from MFT Stamps and the sentiment from The Ton twice from grey and pink cardstock and layered them together for a little more dimension.
During the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge I colored a bunch of floral stamps with copic markers and zig clean color real brush markers so I have a huge pile of completed flowers that were just waiting to become a bouquet! I used a mix of foam mounting tape and regular ATG adhesive to arrange my flowers in the mug and then adhered the mug and sentiment to the distress inked background. Finally I adhered the panel to a grey card base on an angle and my card was done! There’s A LOT going on but I love the way it turned out! Definitely bright and cheery!
To celebrate the 2016 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop I’m giving away a $20 Starbucks card to one commenter! Leave a comment before 11:59PM EST on Friday March 25th and tell me your favorite spring flower! (Mine are most definitely tulips!) I’ll be posting several times this week and you can comment on every post for additional entries!
If you’re here for the first time I hope you’ll come by again! You can also find my cards on Instagram and Facebook and you can subscribe to my blog via the button the right!
I hope you’ll join the hop this week by creating a spring-themed coffee, tea, or cocoa card! I can’t wait to see what you will create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday!
