Good afternoon! Today is the release day for the Hero Arts January My Monthly Hero kit and it’s awesome!! You should have arrived from May but if not, you can head to the Hero Arts Blog to start at the beginning! The January kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts but once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon!
The kit contains:
- A 4″x6″ clear stamp set
- A set of 18 coordinating Frame Cuts dies that match the stamp set
- Five ink cubes: Tide Pool, Mint Julep, Soft Pink, Bubble Gum and Strawberry
- 2 Wood grain Size A1 Envelopes
- 2 Wood grain Size A2 Envelopes
- 4 half sheets of Wood grain card stock
- 2 Pool colored Envelopes
- 2 Tide colored Envelopes
- 2 Shallows colored envelopes
- Red Wax cord – 8 yards
Here’s what I created using the kit:
I love all the individual flowers in the kit stamp set and decided to use them to create a watercolored bouquet! I stamped the bouquet wrapper with pumice stone distress ink and softened the lines with a damp paintbrush. Then I stamped the flowers using picked raspberry, festive berries, and candied apple distress inks and blended the color out into the petals. I also watercolored the bow with candied apple and barn door distress inks and the greenery with mowed lawn distress ink.
Once they dried I stamped the sentiment using Hero Arts intense black ink. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a red card base. No line watercoloring used to really make me nervous but I’ve learned to not try to control things too much. I think the end result is much better when I allow the paint to move a little more freely. What do you think? 🙂
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! If you win and have already purchased the kit you will be reimbursed! Here’s a list of all the stops on the hop:
