Good morning! I’m back again and excited to join Tracey McNeely one more time for her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event! Today I’m honored to represent Concord & 9th and the Where Creativity Meets C9 design team! If you’ve never heard of Where Creativity Meets C9, we’re a challenge blog celebrating our love for Concord & 9th and we’d love for you to stop by sometime! 🙂
Anyway, done with my shameless plug, 😉 here’s my tag:
I’ll admit, tags really throw me sometimes…I think it’s trying to work on a much smaller “canvas.” But I quite enjoy the challenge and I really like how this tag ended up. I don’t think it would quite have worked on a regular A2 card panel but it was perfect for a tag! I used the gorgeous Ornamental dies to die-cut black and baby blue cardstock. I love how that die cuts out part of the design but also leaves stitching in other areas…it reminds me of a Christmas sweater design! I die-cut the design first so that I could more easily see how everything would line up before I die-cut the tag.
So there’s three layers to my tag, the bottom black layer is just a solid tag, the baby blue layer just has the design die-cut along the very bottom of the tag, and then the top black layer has the design across the bottom half of the tag. I actually folded the tag along the scored black line in the stitched design and tore it carefully to get that edge. Finally I stamped the sentiment from Joyful Noel across the top of the design and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.
