Good morning! It is September 30th and it’s the last day of Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember!! And today I’m sharing my 30th video this month! Whew! Honestly there were some rough patches through the month but I’m thankful for all of your sweet comments and support all month long. You really helped me keep going! I’m pretty sure I won’t be posting 30 videos in a single month ever again BUT this was a really great way to challenge myself to get more comfortable with filming videos and I’m hoping to share them more regularly! So today, I’m finishing the month with a thank you card to tell you all thanks for everything!!
I have a video for my card that you can watch below or at my YouTube channel!
I love the look of color on dark cardstock but I didn’t feel like dragging out my colored pencils. So instead I used my distress oxides! I started by stamping the sentiment from Thank You Flowers onto dark grey cardstock with white pigment ink several times to lay a thick layer of pigment down against the dark cardstock. I let it airdry for a few minutes and then inked the stamp with wilted violet and seedless preserves distress oxide ink. Then I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to seal in that pretty color!
You can substitute traditional pigment inks for the distress oxide inks and you can also do this technique without the white layer I just feel that it really helps the colors pop! I repeated the same process for each of the flowers and leaves. To finish the card I just trimmed it down and adhered it to a white card base.
Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!
