Welcome back to the 5 for 5 Easter Blog Hop! Each day our five designers will post an Easter project based on that day’s theme. Today’s theme is pink and lavender! Some of us are offering prizes (including me!), so make sure to hop to each designer and leave comments!
Here are the links for the other designers! Giveaway info is at the bottom of my post!
Here’s my day 2 card!
It’s a little non-traditional for an Easter card but I still think it says spring! I started off by wetting a piece of watercolor paper and painting it with Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves distress ink. Then I heavily spritzed it with Perfect Pearls water, taped a stencil over the paper, and held it down with an acrylic block and a couple water bottles so that it could dry. Unfortunately when it dried the stenciled image wasn’t quite as obvious as I wanted it to be so I went back over it with a sponge dauber and the same Seedless Preserves distress ink. After I was happy with the pattern, I spattered it with undiluted distress ink and then trimmed the watercolor piece down by a half inch. It’s quite sparkly…
To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Happy Easter set and then die-cut it and the black frame from the My Favorite Things Fishtail die set. I added it to the card with foam mounting tape and embellished the watercolor piece with some black sparkly thread and Glass Slippers sequins from The Ton. I originally planned to mount the card on a pink or white card base but I think the black pulls the design together much better (as non-traditional as it might be…)! 😉
GIVEAWAY:
At the end of the hop I will be selecting one random commenter to win a fun spring-themed package full of fun stamping goodies! Every comment will earn you a chance to win so make sure and stop by everyday! This giveaway is open to US and international commenters!
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the hop!!
