Good morning!! It’s time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and today we want you to Put a Flower On It! 😉 As a reminder, Hero Arts is the official sponsor of our challenge blog and every month we will have two fabulous prizes for our challenge! One chosen winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Hero Arts and one randomly chosen entry will receive a $25 gift certificate to Hero Arts! Thanks Hero!! 🙂
And here’s what I created for the challenge:
If you don’t recognize that sentiment there’s a reason…it’s part of the brand new Hero Arts summer catalog that debuts this week! 😉 Hero Arts is releasing some of our most popular woodblock floral stamps as clear sets and stamp & cut sets with new sentiments!
So to started I stamped the Mum Stem stamp onto a piece of canson montval watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossed it with detail black embossing powder. Then I watercolored the mum using the liquid watercolors from Hero Arts. I used pine and moss on the stem and dandelion and strawberry on the flower. While it was drying I stamped the flower on masking paper and fussy cut a mask.
I placed the mask over the dried flower and taped the Crossing Waves stencil over it. I lightly blended butterbar shadow ink over the stencil lightening as I moved away from the flower. I removed the stencil and splattered black liquid watercolor over the panel. Next I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a label and adhered it to the watercolor panel with foam mounting tape. I trimmed the watercolor panel down and adhered that to a black card base. Finally I finished the card with a sprinkling of ombre sunshine sequins!
And now it’s your turn! The challenge ends on May 15th and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more design inspiration throughout the month! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
