Good morning!! It’s time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and today we want you to create a summertime fun project!! As a reminder, Hero Arts is the official sponsor of our challenge blog and every month we will have two fabulous prizes for our challenge! One chosen winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Hero Arts and one randomly chosen entry will receive a $25 gift certificate to Hero Arts! Thanks Hero!! 🙂
And here’s what I created for the challenge:
I just adore the Seas the Day Seagulls add-on set from the most recent My Monthly Hero kit and I’ll pretty much find any reason to use them! 😉 But they were perfect for a summer themed card! I started by stamping the seagull, shells, and clouds on white cardstock and colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.
Next I die a little simple ink blending. I used post-it notes to mark off a horizon and blended soft sand ink to create a sandy beach. Then I covered the sand area with a post-it note and blended soft pool ink to create a sky. Finally I placed another post-it note over the sky leaving a tiny sliver and then blended more soft pool ink to create the ocean. I removed the post-its and blasted the ink with my heat gun to dry the ink. I stamped my sentiment with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Finally I added my clouds, seagull, and shells to finish the card!
And now it’s your turn! The challenge ends on July 10th and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more design inspiration throughout the month! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
