Good morning! I’ve been enjoying my alcohol ink experiments this month during Kathy Rac’s coloring challenge and wanted to share one of the ways I use them today! 🙂
I used a combination of copic refills, alcohol inks, and alcohol pearl ink to create this background along with thermoweb foil and pinata brass ink. I applied V28 copic refill; stream, pitch black, and wild plum alcohol ink; tranquil alcohol pearl ink; and pinata brass metallic ink to a 5×7 panel of medium yupo paper and moved it around with copic blending solution and an air puffer. While some of the ink was still sticky I pressed turquoise foil on the panel to get those shiny foil accents!
Once the panel was totally dry I die-cut it with the Big Hi die from The Stamp Market. I prefer to use medium weight yupo paper when I intend to do die-cutting…the heavy weight paper is a little hard to cut through. Yupo is a synthetic plastic paper so it doesn’t quite cut the same way cardstock would. Next I took a panel of black cardstock and applied gold matte cardstock to the bottom at an angle. I adhered the alcohol ink panel above to create the look of a gold-dipped sentiment. Finally I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder, and trimmed it down to a thin label before adhering it to the panel with foam mounting tape!
And, of course, I couldn’t waste the die-cut sentiment! I used the rest of the gold cardstock from the previous card and adhered it to a black cardstock panel. I adhered the alcohol inked sentiment over the panel to figure out the layout for my gold “dipped” edge. Then I die-cut the same sentiment die with gold matte cardstock, trimmed off the top, and adhered it to the word die on the same angle. Again I stamped the rest of the sentiment on black cardstock, heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder and popped it up with foam mounting tape! I love the graphic and modern look of these two cards and they’re the perfect use for my alcohol ink panels!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and have an amazing day!

WOW! How absolutely stunning both of these are! I’m a complete newbie at alcohol inks but I’m going to try this technique — I love how that dual-tone word looks! Thanks for the inspiration!
