After my super colorful card from earlier this week I wanted to do something a little more subdued. I created this card with the Avery Elle I Heart You Challenge in mind. Their theme this month was simply holiday cards and I thought this would be a great general holiday/winter card.
Originally I started off with a white cardstock background but decided that was a little too plain for such a simple design, so I ran the piece of cardstock through my Bigshot with an embossing folder (unfortunately I don’t remember where I got it…). Then I stamped the birch trees from the Avery Elle Let it Snow set with Delicata Silver Shimmer ink and fussy cut the trees with a craft knife once the ink was dry. I stamped the sentiment from the same tag onto a tag cut from the Mama Elephant Tags A Lot die set. I attached the trees to the white textured piece and then “tied” the tag onto the branch with silver and blue thread. I used foam mounting tape to keep the tag at the angle that I wanted and also to give it a little dimension. Finally I mounted the piece onto a dark blue cardstock base.
This card was entered into the Avery Elle I Heart You Challenge #18! Thanks for visiting!
