After I broke out the masking paper for my Lawnscaping cards I decided to go ahead and work on a card for the AEIHeartUChallenge. I realized that I’ve used the More Stories or Storybook stamps in every card I’ve previously entered in their challenges so I wanted to try something else! I’ve owned the Look Up set for several months but have never got around to using it until now…
Here’s my card:
What an amazing sentiment! I wanted to keep the masking fairly simple so I started off by stamping the sentiment from Look Up onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Silver Shimmer Delicata ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the masking paper, trimmed it, and placed it over the sentiment to protect it from the background stamp.
I stamped the Hero Arts Constellation wood block stamp with versamark ink before heat embossing it with the same clear embossing powder. I removed the masking paper and then blending Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot distress inks onto the card getting darker as I moved up the paper.
To finish the card I cut stars from the Simon Says Stamp Lots of Stars die set with DCWV glitter paper and adhered them to the card front. I like the way masking allows the sentiment to stand out from the starry background!
Thanks for visiting!
