Good morning! Today I’m sharing a card using one of my favorite older Concord & 9th sets paired with the cutest set from their new release!!
I just loved Special Delivery when I saw it and thought the art style was very similar to one of my favorite older C&9 sets, City Stacks! So I decided to use the two together to create this cheery scene!
I started by stamping the truck, trees twice, and buildings onto a scrap of watercolor paper with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I took a panel of watercolor paper trimmed down to 4.25″ by 8.5″ and stamped the buildlings again along with the sentiment. I taped the panels down to a hard board and watercolored them with a mix of Daniel Smith watercolors and distress inks. I used traditional watercolors on all of the stamped images and distress inks in spun sugar, worn lipstick, abandoned coral, and picked raspberry for the sky. I let them dry and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.
Once the panel was dry I trimmed it down to 3.75″ by 8″. Next I started building my scene! First I adhered my second set of buildings at an offset to create more dimension. I watercolored the space below the buildings with shades of green to create greenery in the distance. Then I watercolored more greenery below the trees and added a road with black soot distress ink. I adhered that to the panel and then added my delivery truck! Finally I trimmed down one of the trees and added it to the foreground. I trimmed off all the overhang and then finished the card with a little spectrum noir clear sparkle and crystal glaze!
The truck has a ton of options to change up the design…ice cream, balloons, even TACOS! And combining it with City Stacks lets you create all sorts of fun scenes! Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure to check out the full December release from Concord & 9th! This is just one of the fantastic sets releasing today!
