Where Creativity Meets C9: Happy Balloons

Good morning!  I’m back for Concord & 9th’s Feature Friday and today the Where Creativity Meets C9 team is showcasing the fun Happy Balloons bundle!

I started by die-cutting a bunch of the balloons from white, black, and vellum cardstock.  Then I stamped and heat-embossed the dots on some of the balloons and left others plain.  I also stamped the banner with the sentiment and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I tied gold thread around each balloon and set them aside while I worked on the background.

Next I blended distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it with a water bottle to create light dots across the background.  I also flicked white acrylic paint across the background to get brighter white splatter.  Once it was totally dry I stamped some of the solid balloons onto the background and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder.  I arranged the balloons across the background with regular adhesive and foam mounting tape and tucked the strings behind the background and taped them loosely so they wouldn’t hang down.  Finally I added a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins to finish the card!
