Good morning! I am thrilled to be guesting for Concord & 9th this month helping them celebrate their FOURTH birthday!! I have been a fan of C&9 since the very beginning (remember Map Love and Take a Bough dies?!) and I am honored to share projects with you this month! The entire August release is now available but today I’m focusing on the fun Cake Layers die and Confetti Turnabout stamps!
I love a cheerful sparkly cake and wanted to go all out with this one! So I started by stamping the Confetti Turnabout stamp with several shades of coral, mint, and navy ink onto fog grey cardstock. I used Altenew inks in Coral Bliss, Crimson, and Sapphire and Gina K Sea Glass ink for my turnabout! Without removing my card panel I stamped the turnabout again using versamark. Then I heat-embossed it with hologram clear sparkle embossing powder. I also stamped the sentiment with Sapphire ink and heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder.
I trimmed the fog grey panel down to 4″x5.25″ inches and adhered it to a white card base. Then I die-cut my cake from white cardstock using the Cake Layer dies. I added a little shading with copic markers to the main cake layer. I also colored the candles and flames using copics. For the icing I swiped the Coral Bliss ink pad over the piece a few times and then pressed a versamark pad to it and heat-embossed it with hologram clear sparkle embossing powder. I also die-cut the cake platter with silver foil cardstock. I adhered the candles and cake platter to the panel with liquid adhesive and then added the cake with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension. I finished the card by adding a little nuvo crystal glaze to the candle flames!
Thanks so much for visiting and I’m excited to share more with you this month!!

Amazing card. The grey back was so subtle I didn’t take note until after I read your post. Sometimes I always make things and then say now why doesn’t mine look as fantastic as hers? Yup, those amazing subtle things is one of many reasons why. SOMEDAY I will work up courage to share my stuff; until then I will be happy just to really enjoy YOURS!
