Good morning! I’m back with a couple of cards for the final stage of Anna’s CASometry Challenge 2 – Make 5! For the final stage we had to create a CAS card using the same stamp set we had used for the previous stages but we also had to base our design on a CASE of a card found on the Pinterest board she created for the challenge! I couldn’t decide between two cards on the pinterest board so I decided to use both! My first card is a CASE of an adorable card by Margarita from the last stage. Here’s Margarita’s card:
And here’s my card:
I loved the idea of building a background image using the smaller secondary stamps from a stamp set! I die-cut a circle from a piece of copy paper and then taped the negative over my card panel to create a mask. I stamped the smaller images from Simon Says Stamp’s Sketch Ranunculus inside the circle and then colored them with copic markers. Finally I die-cut the sentiment four times from white cardstock and used multi medium matte to adhere them together to create a thick faux-chipboard sentiment. I adhered that over my patterned background and then added a sprinkling of coral and iridescent coral sequins!
My second card was based on this modern and chic set of cards by Daria:
I loved the bright pops of pink and navy blue! I decided to use the same navy color and general concept as Daria and this is what I came up with!
I needed a solid stamp for the rose so I actually turned my stamp over and picked up the design side with an acrylic block. Then I inked the back of the stamp and stamped it onto my card panel. Once I had all the round shapes stamped I went back and stamped the design of the rose with a dark navy blue ink. I also added touches of navy blue with one of the smaller accent stamps. I stamped the sentiment onto dark navy blue cardstock and then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before fussy cutting it. I stamped the rest of the sentiment on white cardstock that I trimmed down to a flag shape. I adhered it over the die-cut word with foam mounting tape and then added a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins. As you can see I ended up making several more variations of this design using different color combinations!
Thanks to both Daria and Margarita for inspiring me with their gorgeous cards and many thanks to Anna for hosting such a fun challenge! 🙂
