Happy Monday! I’m back with my second day of cards as a guest designer for CAS-ual Friday Stamps! If you missed day one click here to check out my music-themed cards!
Of course, it’s me…so I had to do at least one shaker card! 😉
For this card I started off by die-cutting the Double Note Fri-dies from five different colored cardstocks in a rainbow pattern. Then I took a piece of black cardstock and cut the Double Note Fri-dies five times overlapping slightly. I took a second piece of black cardstock and laid the die-cut piece on top. Using that as a guide I inlaid the rainbow colored notes and adhered them to the full black panel. Next I stamped the sentiment from Big Treble with versamark and heat-embossed it with silver superfine embossing powder.
To create the shaker card I adhered acetate behind the die-cut black panel and then added foam mounting tape around all of the notes. I filled the shaker with Glass Slippers clear sequins and carefully mounted the panel with the rainbow notes to the front panel so that the rainbow cardstocks would be lined up with the die-cuts. As a trick, for lining up shaker panels I like to remove all the padding from my MISTI, place the shaker part of the card in a corner of the MISTI and then use the edges to help align my top panel. It helps with a much more precise alignment!
My second card veers off from music and heads to florals! I loved the Calm and Gentle stamp set (which I’ll feature tomorrow) and as I was stamping the cards for tomorrow I realized that the tree trunks would also be great flower stems! I started off by stamping the stems across a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. Then I went a little flower crazy. I stamped the flowers from Wallflower with Sweet Gelato ink from WPlus9. I used generation stamping to get the three shades of pink for the flowers. Then I stamped some of the flowers with Delicata ink in Golden Glitz and heat-embossed them with clear powder for a little extra shine.
Next I die-cut the flowers from 4 Petal Fri-dies with Sweet Gelato cardstock and used my fingers to curve the edges slightly so they’d resemble petals. I adhered them to the card front with glue dots and embellished the centers with little pearls. Finally I stamped the sentiment from Wallflower with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat-embossed it with clear powder.
Thanks so much for visiting and see you tomorrow for my final day of guest-designing for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps! Here’s a hint for what you’ll see tomorrow:
Confused yet? 😉
