So I apologize for disappearing…I’ve been fighting a nasty case of strep throat. Last year when I had strep I ended up having an allergic reaction to amoxicillin so this year they gave me a z-pack instead. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be nearly as effective as the amoxicillin was…*sigh*…weird skin reaction or awful cough…I’m beginning to think I’d prefer the skin reaction…
Anyway, I’ve been alternating between bed and the couch for the last 5 days and while I’ve been loving all the videos for the newest Online Card Class: Clean and Simple 4 I had absolutely no creative drive or energy to try and make anything until this evening. Even then it took me way longer than it should have to come up with a card design and I made some fairly stupid mistakes; but, in the end I’m pretty happy with how my card turned out! I decided to follow Julie Ebersole‘s tutorial for making a faux ceramic tile…I didn’t have any of the inchie squares she referenced but I glued together two pieces of 110lb cardstock and it worked just fine!
I love the way the embossed piece turned out…it really does look like a ceramic tile. I used one of the butterfly dies from Clearly Besotted Elegant Butterflies and inked up the tile with Mama Elephant pigment ink in Stargazer and Lollipop. I’m looking forward to experimenting more with this technique and I can’t recommend this classes enough…I learn SO much from every single one! Hopefully I’ll feel up to trying a few more lessons tomorrow! 🙂

Cheryl, thank you! I am feeling so much better…just wish I could shake this cough…I lost a ton of embossing powder this afternoon due to a badly-timed cough! 🙁
