Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day! Our Christmas Card Challenge this week is a fun one: create a card using NO patterned papers! 🙂 Of course, I very rarely use patterned paper but as soon as I can’t use it, I want it! Ha. But I suppressed the urge to reach for patterned paper and created a fairly simple but striking card!
I started off by blending Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress ink onto a piece of Bazzill Whirlypop cardstock. Then I set the ink with my heat tool so it wouldn’t attract stray embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment from the Mama Elephant Peace on Earth stamp set with versamark and heat-embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl embossing powder. Then I cut a piece of white cardstock with the Mama Elephant Borderlines Trio die to create a snowy hill and attached it to the bottom of the card. Finally, I used silver glitter paper to die-cut the deer from the Savvy Stamps Woodland Meadow Die and attached him to the card with slivers of foam mounting tape.
I look forward to seeing your patterned paper-less entries this week! And don’t forget to check out the rest of the design team!
Thanks for visiting!

I can almost smell that crisp, cold air! What a wonderful Christmas card! Your arm had to be worn out after all that amazing ink blending!
