Good morning! I’m excited to be hopping along to share the newest Anita Jeram release from Colorado Craft Company: Our Furry Friends! (You knew I’d be excited about that one…) For a chance to win the entire release make sure you shop through my affiliate link!
Both of these cute dogs could easily be my Gambit with their ball playing and bowl staring but I decided to color them up as my second favorite dog breed: golden retrievers! I stamped the dogs and accessories from Play Ball and Stay Pawsitive and the cute grey kitty from Treat Yourself with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I used E30s for the dogs, toner greys for the kitty, G0s for the grass, and R30s for the bowl, ball, and flower!
To complete my cards I stamped grass from Greener Grass and the sentiment from Play Ball onto one A2 panel and masked it off. Then I blended tumbled glass distress oxide ink to create my sky. I colored the grass and then added the rest of the images with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape! For the second card I used a post-it note to mask off an A2 card panel and blended lost shadow distress oxide ink for the ground and prize ribbon distress oxide ink for the background. I adhered the ball, bone, and pup with foam mounting tape and then added a sentiment trimmed down to a black label to finish the card!
I had so much fun coloring these cute pets and I can’t wait to see how everyone colors them to resemble their favorite furry friends!

I love how the characters are the stars of the show in your cards. The simple, blended backgrounds don’t compete with the animals and let them shine! Isn’t that the point?

Hi Jessica. Your Golden Retriever cards are too cute. They are a tribute to Team Dog and Team Cat. The best of both worlds. I love how the brave kitty is not scared of the pup having fun bouncing around her. She just sits there smiling. Your Golden is probably just like this sweet pup waiting on his kibbles.
