Good morning! We’re kicking off the countdown to the Hero Arts January My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit!
I just love the layering set included in this kit and decided to use it to create a weeping cherry tree shaker card! I stamped the tree branch using generation stamping with Charcoal ink and stamped the foliage with Cotton Candy and Rose Madder ink. I stamped the tree branches twice and die-cut them with the coordinating frame cuts.
Then I die-cut the decorative keyhole panel using the kit coverplate die. I blended a little Cotton Candy and Charcoal ink lightly onto a panel of white cardstock to create my background. I filled the shaker with seed beads and sparkly sequins and then arranged my cherry tree on the front and back of the keyhole panel for more dimension. Finally I added a sentiment from the kit to complete the card!
And that’s it for me! Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the January My Monthly Hero kit all weekend long!! And then I’ll be back Monday with the full kit reveal and a video!!
For a chance to win a kit before you can buy it, just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, January 10th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
