Good morning! I am thrilled and honored to participate in a blog hop to celebrate the 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive! The purpose of this card drive is to collect handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes around the world. Since 2010 we have been bringing joy to many nursing homes throughout the US, Canada, and Australia. And this year, we are branching out to the UK! What better way to share our love of card-making than to bring joy to others, right? We hope you’ll join us in supporting the card drive. Details on how to participate in the card drive can be found at Vera’s and Jennifer’s blogs!
Today is also World Kindness Day so we thought it would be fun to put together a big blog hop to bring awareness to the card drive, share some crafty inspiration to get your mojo going for card drive, and give away quite the shopping spree to one lucky commenter! You’ll find a list of all the hoppers plus details on the giveaway at the end of my post!
I wanted to share a card that could be easily mass-produced in a variety of color schemes. I chose to go slightly non-traditional with corals, pinks, reds, and golds. I absolutely adore the sentiment from WPlus9’s Be Merry stamp set. To create my card I stamped the sentiment with versamark using my MISTI and then heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. I stamped the flowers from Be Merry Florals using a variety of inks from Hero Arts and WPlus9 (Sweet Gelato is one of my most favorite colors EVER!) ;). Finally I used copics to color the sentiment and match the ink colors.
I’m looking forward to making different variations of this card…I think blues and silver will be really pretty, too!
So what’s a hop without a giveaway, right? Simon Says Stamp has generously offered a $150 gift card for this hop. That’s one heck of a shopping spree!! All you need to do is visit and leave a comment on each blog. The winner will be randomly selected from one blog and will be announced on Vera’s blog on Friday, November 18th. You have until midnight, Thursday, November 17th, 2016 to leave your comments. The more comments you leave, the better your chances!!

Boy, did you think out of the box with your colors! Sometimes I want to do a card that just has Christmas colors and then sometimes I want to use yellow and orange and celery green. I love it! Some of the cards I’ve done look Christmasy by the pictures I printed or stamped but not by the colors I used. That’s just me and I see that’s just you too! Your right, it could be done in a number of different colors and hey, those really don’t seem to me like Christmas flowers, so why couldn’t you do that and write Happy Birthday instead of Merry Christmas? If I had this stamp set I would and they could be massed produced very easily. Love it! I hope everyone loves our cards and that I get a chance to win something. It would certainly make my Christmas complete.
