Well, Christmas is technically over (although we do have a few more family and friends Christmas celebrations in the works this week) but I thought I’d share a little of our holiday home. Better late than never, right?
Anyway, this is our first year decorating in the new house. Last year we were still looking at mountains of unopened boxes throughout the house and the idea of taking out Christmas decorations that we’d have to put away a few weeks later just wasn’t appealing. So our house was decidedly Grinch-y last year…
I’m MUCH happier this year!
This will be a photo-heavy post so I’ll try to keep the words to a minimum! Enjoy!
Finally figured out that whole fun bokeh thing! Rogue was a mostly willing subject for my experiments…
Okay, this one might need a little explaining…I grew up in a military family so we moved quite a bit. Some of my favorite Christmas decorations in our home were homemade “mailboxes” with the addresses and years of every place we lived. So when Steve and I moved into our first place together my dad made me a mailbox! Over the years he’s made additional mailboxes that I’ve gotten to decorate and address. I haven’t finished our current “mailbox” but here’s our last three! On the back of each mailbox is the years we resided there.
And a peek into my music studio…I ran out of room for Christmas cards so I started using an extra harp.
Here’s my little mudroom nook…I wanted to make the animals a little more festive so I took various ribbons and made little holiday scarves. Then I put a removable glue dot on the bottom of the glass ornaments so they could be scattered around the animals but wouldn’t roll off the shelves and break.
Of course, obligatory photos of our herd (Cookie wasn’t in the mood for photos):
And here’s a look at the Christmas card I sent to my parents and in-laws…I had grand ideas of making these cards for everyone but after spending several hours with tweezers and sequins I scratched that idea…
Finally, because you can never have enough cute cat photos, here’s Rogue’s attempt at helping me wrap presents. To anyone who received a gift from me this year, I sincerely hope you’re not allergic to cats because she LIVED in the bow and ribbon box…
Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday!
