Good afternoon and welcome to another Anything Goes week at Christmas Card Challenges!
A few weeks ago my good friend Ruby shared this gorgeous card using sequins in a unique and unconventional way and I decided to borrow her idea for today’s card!
I started off by die-cutting a circle of gold glitter paper to make my “ornament.” I stamped the branch from Rubbernecker Stamps onto a piece of cardstock and arranged the ornament so it would appear to be hanging from the Christmas tree. I added silver thread to make the hanger and then adhered the ornament to the card. I stamped the Papertrey Ink sentiment with Studio Calico Real Red ink and colored the edge of a piece of white cardstock with the same ink to create a matching border. Then I took red thread and threaded a few sequins before stitching it through the card. I didn’t want the sequins to droop together so I stitched them through the card in three places which also helped to give it more of a garland look! To finish the card I attached it to the red frame and then mounted it to a side-folding A2 card!
I love the Anything Goes challenges because the design team really shows off totally different styles and every creation is so different! Make sure you check out all the fabulous inspiration the design team is bringing this week and I look forward to seeing your creations!!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!
