Good afternoon! Before we get started I have to tell you that this will be my last week on the Christmas Card Challenges design team for now. I’ve been on the team since December of 2014 and have loved working with Alanna and the rest of the team. I am going to take a few months off over the summer to work on a few projects but I hope to be back with the team this fall! My sincerest thanks to Alanna, Sparkle, and the rest of the team…this is one of the best challenge teams out there! 🙂 And now onto this week’s card…We have a fun color palette to inspire you this week!
When I saw the palette I immediately thought of Who-ville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas with the pink and purple houses!
And here’s what I created:
I went a little more purple than the inspiration palette but I think it’s okay! 😉 I die-cut the houses from various shades of red and pink cardstock and die-cut the trees from grey cardstock. I applied a little glue to the top of the houses and trees and sprinkled them with glitter and flocking to create snow. Then I die-cut clouds from vellum and purple cardstock and used white cardstock for the sky and ground. I stamped the sentiment with red pigment ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Finally I adhered all of the elements together with a mixture of foam mounting tape and regular ATG adhesive. It’s definitely not a traditional Christmas color palette but I like the reminder of one of my favorite holiday movies! 😉
Now it’s your turn to get crafty! We provide an inspiration palette or photo each week but really, the only rule is that you create a holiday card! For even more inspiration, check out what the rest of the Christmas Card Challenges design team has created!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Hi Jess, I love it! The color combo is awesome, I actually grew up in a pink house. Thanks for sharing and always inspiring.

Purple schmerple…who cares. This is simple adorable. You’re right, like the Who-ville landscape. Love it. So festive and fun.
