Good afternoon! This week Christmas Card Challenges has an inspiration photo for the challenge! It’s this yummy plate of Christmas cookies!
And here’s my CAS take on the challenge:
After my last semi-disastrous attempt at making Christmas cookies on a card I decided to use the candy cane cookies for my inspiration! I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with the Stitched Rectangles die from Simon Says Stamp and then used my MISTI to stamp the small candies from a My Favorite Things set and the large candy and sentiment from a Mama Elephant set with red pigment ink. I heat-embossed the pigment ink with clear embossing powder to get a little shine. Then I went over the white areas of the candies with my Gelly Roll white glaze pen which leaves a raised edge when it dries.
Once the white glaze was dry I mounted the panel to a piece of candy cane-striped patterned paper and adhered it to a top-folding white card base.
I hope you’ll play along with the challenge this week! For even more inspiration, don’t forget to visit the rest of the design team!
