Good afternoon! I’m back with another Anything Goes Challenge at Christmas Card Challenges! Here’s my card:
I’ve been wanting to use this cute stamp set from Newton’s Nook for awhile and I’m glad I had the time to do some coloring today for this card! I started off by die-cutting a stitched rectangle for the kitty and my sentiment. I stamped the cat in Versafine and heat-embossed it in clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. I LOVE this embossing powder (many thanks to Effie for the recommendation!)!
Next I colored the cat with copic markers. I stuck with cool greys for the cat and a rainbow palette to create my christmas lights. I used two markers to shade each light and then used the lightest color I had in each palette (R000, G00, etc.) to create a halo around each lightbulb so that they would look like they were glowing. Then I went over the lightbulb with my clear wink of stella glitter brush for a little sparkle and finally finished off each bulb with a bit of glossy accents!
Originally I was going to just mount the white panel to a red card base but it just didn’t seem finished. I loved the idea of the strands of Christmas lights and realized that one of my Lil’ Inker coverplates would be perfect with my card. So I die-cut my red panel with the coverplate and then decided to go a little further! 😉 I die cut the Memory Box lightbulbs with silver and rainbow cardstock. To assemble the card I adhered foam mounting tape to the white panel. Then I turned it over and looped silver twine around using the foam mounting tape to hold it in place. I adhered the white panel to the red panel and then attached the lightbulb bases to the silver twine. Next I inlaid the colored cardstocks into the lightbulbs, went over them with the wink of stella clear glitter brush, and then finished the bulbs with a coat of glossy accents!
I hope you’ll link up a card this week…it’s anything goes so as long as it’s a holiday card, you’re good to go!! For even more inspiration, don’t forget to visit the rest of the design team!

Lovely card Jess and I really like how you placed the kitty panel to the side – makes such a pleasing design.
