Good afternoon!! If you’re looking for my Chibitronics LED stickers giveaway please click here! And don’t forget my Instagram giveaway that can be found at my IG account: @JessicaAFrost! ? Anyway, onto my actual post for today…
This week’s Christmas Card Challenge is a really unusual and pretty pastel color palette. I had a lot of fun coming up with ways to create a holiday card using a very non-holiday palette! I look forward to seeing how all of you interpret the challenge!
My colors aren’t quite true to the palette but they’re close enough for me! 😉 To start off, I blended Old Paper, Milled Lavender, and Shaded Lilac distress inks onto a 4″x5.25″ piece of white cardstock. I let it dry and then stamped the sentiment with versamark before heat-embossing with silver embossing powder. Next I die-cut the trees from Memory Box and adhered them to the card with glue dots. Next I used my pico embellisher to add “snow” at the base of the trees and on the branches. While it was still wet I sprinkled it with distress rock candy glitter. I adhered the panel to a white card base but decided that it was missing something. I wanted a little more shimmer and sparkle so I masked off the white card base with post-it tape and spritzed the panel with shimmer spray. Once that was dry I removed the post-it tape and placed my card in an empty box. I sprayed it lightly with Aleene’s Tacky spray and then sprinkled the whole card with superfine glitter. I tapped off the excess glitter and then let it dry overnight.
I love how the spray glue actually creates texture on the card and that, in combination with the glitter, it looks like snow! So there you have it, a pastel Christmas card! 😉
That’s my card for the week! I hope you’ll play along with the challenge! For even more inspiration, don’t forget to visit the rest of the design team!
