Yay!! I finally had time to break out the newest distress ink, Cracked Pistachio, and I LOVE it! Tim Holtz is releasing a surprise new color each month…I’m sure I’ll be collecting them all! Normally, I love mixing distress inks but today I decided to just focus on the one color!
While I do like the look of the silver and green together I think I’ll try the same card again sometime but use gold instead. I think this shade of green would look really good with gold tones!
I started off by heat embossing the Hero Arts Thank You Thanks background stamp with white embossing powder on watercolor paper. I smushed the distress ink onto an acrylic block then wet the paper liberally before applying cracked pistachio distress ink with a damp paintbrush. I painted the ink darker towards the top of the paper so that I could see the different shades of color. Then to get a feel for the true color I swiped it onto a piece of white card stock until it was covered evenly. After it dried I die-cut the sentiment from the paper with the WPlus9 Hand-Lettered Thanks die.
I trimmed down the watercolor paper because, unfortunately, I didn’t stamp the background straight…*sigh*…Then I adhered the watercolor piece to a top folding white card stock base and layered a strip of silver glitter paper on the left side. I attached the sentiment with foam mounting tape over a jumble of silver metallic thread and embellished the card with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear 4mm and 6mm sequins.
Thanks for visiting!
