Good afternoon! It’s been really hard to keep this a secret but I am SUPER excited to share that I am now an Ambassador for the Ellen Hutson design team!!! 🙂 I’ve loved Ellen Hutson (she is such a sweetheart!!) for years and I cannot wait to share more inspiration with you using these fabulous products! The March Essentials by Ellen release is now live and it’s SO good!!
Here’s a quick look at the new release! I have a fun video coming up soon with those adorable Life is a Circus animals! 😉

And here’s what I created today!
Today I used some of the new alcohol inks from Tim Holtz to color the gorgeous Mondo Succulent! I started by stamping the Mondo Succulent onto heavyweight yupo paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. If you’re coloring a stamped image with alcohol inks you’ll want to “seal” the ink with embossing powder otherwise it will run when the alcohol hits it. Next I used Rosewood, Everglades, and Moss from the new Tim Holtz collection to color the image. I also used Pebble and Sepia to color the dirt and planter. Also, another tip, when you use alcohol inks to “paint” images make sure you use a synthetic brush as the alcohol will destroy good brushes. This technique is best with super super cheap brushes! 😉 After I finished coloring the image I used diluted Pebble ink and alcohol to “paint” the background with a paper towel. The texture of the paper towel created interesting patterns across the panel!
Once my painting was finished (and dry) I adhered it to a white card base. Then I stamped the sentiment from Mondo Succulent onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a label and adhered it to the panel with foam mounting tape to finish the card! I love using mediums in different ways and alcohol inks are so fun to use for painting! 🙂
To celebrate the release Ellen Hutson is giving away a $25 to one lucky commenter AND the entire March Essentials by Ellen release to another lucky commenter!! Please comment before 11:59PM PST on Thursday, March 12th! You should have arrived from Therese and Carly is your next stop!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!!
