Good afternoon! We’re celebrating the Summer of Stamping over at Ellen Hutson with another fabulous release! Did you miss last week’s exclusive collaboration with Lawn Fawn: S’More the Merrier?
This time we have three fantastic sets from Brandi Kinkaid: Mondo Pansy, You Should Know, Thanks For Being a Friend, and a combo bundle of all three sets! Today I dusted off my watercolors to use with the pretty Mondo Pansy!
I can’t tell you the last time I used my watercolors and I forgot how much I actually enjoy them! I know I’m not great with them but it’s a relaxing process when I let my perfectionist tendencies rest a bit! 😉 I used six Daniel Smith colors: indigo and prussian blue for the background; new gamboge, quinacridone coral, and quinacridone pink for the flowers; and payne’s gray for the leaves. After I finished painting I splattered the panel with white gouache and indigo paint and let it dry.
Next I stamped a sentiment from You Should Know onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape. Finally I finished the card with a sprinkling of clear sequins!
To celebrate the release one lucky commenter will win $25 to the EH shop!!! To enter for a chance to win, make sure to leave comments at each stop along the hop! Comment before Saturday, July 18th at 11:59pm PDT and the winner will be notified by email. You should have arrived from the Ellen Hutson blog and Adelina is your next stop!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!!

Lovely cards! I am like you since I don’t bring out my watercolors very often. I really have little talent to use them, but I do my best. Thank you.

Jess- I can’t believe you think you’re not good with watercolor! The dimension on the mondo pansy is great, and your background shadowing is spot on. This pansy is the perfect size and style for coloring- love it!
