Hi! Today we’re introducing the newest United We Flourish collaboration from Ellen Hutson and it’s from one of my other favorite companies: Hero Arts!!! Better Together is a fabulous feathered set with great friendship-themed sentiments!
Here’s what I created!
I have so many birds on my branch that you can hardly see it. Ha! Anyway, I loved the idea of the rainbow of colorful birds making the world a beautiful place. I started by stamping each of the birds onto watercolor paper with versafine and heat-embossing them with clear embossing powder. Then I watercolored them in rainbow order with distress inks starting and ending with spun sugar! I let them dry and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Next I did a brightly smooshed distress ink background using some of the same distress inks and let it dry. I stamped the sentiment from a Hero Arts set, You Are Loved, with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed my watercolor panel down to 4″ by 5.5″ and adhered it to a black card base. Finally I added my branch and birds with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape.
