Today I’m sharing a set of easy note cards featuring a stamp from Jessica’s newest stamp set, Happy Valentine’s Day: I Love You! Ha, you’ll probably notice that they’re not actually Valentine’s Day cards…I like that a lot of her sets can be used for everyday cards as well as themed holidays. The rest of the design team has created some great Valentine’s Day cards so I wanted to do something a little different to show off how this set could be used year-round!
As a music teacher I LOVE that her sentiment stamp can be used to make some music-themed cards! These are tiny cards…measuring 4 inches by 2.75 inches but they’re great for a short note home to a student’s parent or just as a surprise note to stick in an assignment book or on a music stand before a recital!
I started off by die-cutting the music staff from Memory Box onto black cardstock. Then I die-cut a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper with the Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangles die. I wet the top half of each piece of watercolor paper and then casually swiped color onto the top half with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I let it air dry and then went over the colored area with the clear wink of stella brush.
Then I stamped Jessica Lynn Original’s sentiment with versamark and heat embossed it with Ranger platinum embossing powder. To finish off the card I adhered the watercolor piece to a black top-folding card base. Simple but bright and eye-catching! I was super tempted to draw a little arrow pointing to the eighth note but thought that might be a little TOO music nerd-y… 😉
