Good morning! This week Lawn Fawn is celebrating Fawny Holiday Week and today I’m sharing a holiday card in an unconventional color palette (my favorite!) 😉 Here’s what I created!
I started by blending blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire, and black soot distress oxide ink onto a panel of Lawn Fawn BlueJay cardstock. The cardstock color peeks through at the bottom of the panel and then blends to the deeper colors at the top! Then I splattered the panel lightly with water and blotted off the excess. Once it was dry I splattered it with gold paint and let it dry completely.
I always have a few scraps of alcohol ink art that didn’t quite make the cut for a full panel or resin art and I had a piece in shades of peach, pink, and red with touches of gold that was perfect for my card! I die-cut the Mini String of Lights from the alcohol ink panel and tried to vary the patterns and colors I cut. I die-cut the light string from gold glitter cardstock. I also die-cut the Scripty Cheers with the same glitter cardstock once and Blue Jay cardstock twice. I layered the sentiments together and adhered them to create a dimensional chipboard-like sentiment. Next I adhered my alcohol ink bulbs to the light string and varied the colors and patterns. I adhered the sentiment and strings to the blended panel. Finally I added a layer of nuvo crystal glaze to each light bulb to give them a little extra sparkle and shine!
And that’s it for me! I hope you enjoyed my card for Fawny Holiday Week and make sure to head over to the Lawn Fawn blog for a chance to win a prize from them! Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!
