Unfortunately I’ve had to make a few get well/feel better cards recently. I enjoyed making them but wish that the recipients didn’t have a reason to need a get well card. But hopefully these cards will bring them a little joy!
The first card uses stamps from the June and July Simon Says Stamp card kits. I loved the versatility of the flower building set from June and the sentiments from the July kit.
I started off by stamping the largest solid flowers in Hero Arts Lemon Yellow and Passion Flower ink. Then I stamped the outlines with slightly darker shades of Hero Arts Butter Bar and Stampin’ Up Elegant Eggplant. Next I added the leaves using Hero Arts Green Hills and Field Greens ink. Then I added the larger green sprigs and small dot stamps in Field Greens and Elegant Eggplant. I was planning on adding the small sprigs and then realized that I must have accidentally torn that stamp the last time I used it so I just stamped half of the larger sprig. Finally I stamped the little stars in Butter Bar and added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins. After looking at it I felt like there was something missing so I added a little sparkle to the larger flowers with the clear Wink of Stella brush pen.
The second card was quite different from the first..I went back to distress inks for the watercolor effect. I started off by stamping and embossing the background stamp on a piece of watercolor paper with white embossing powder. Then I rubbed Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed distress ink onto an acrylic block in three separate sections. Then I wet the paper thoroughly and then used a wet brush to freely paint the three colors onto the watercolor paper in a diagonal design. I let the colors pool as they wanted because I was looking for the variegated shades of each color. I was impatient so I did heat-set the ink but tried to not push the color around too much.
Then I took a piece of coral cardstock, stamped the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Sweet Little Sentiments and cut it into a faux banner. I adhered it with foam mounting tape to give it a little dimension and added the pale orange jewels for a little sparkle.
So those are two cards that could be easily changed for different occasions and with different colors could fit different holidays or seasons. Hope you liked them!
GIVEAWAY – After placing my last Simon Says Stamp order I realized that I accidentally ordered two SSS Dog and Cat Pawsome craft dies.
Recently I’ve been getting a little more traffic to my blog (mostly from Splitcoaststampers and Facebook) so I thought I’d try to do a giveaway of my extra craft die! For a chance to win please leave a comment before 11:59PM on Monday, July 28th and I’ll pick a random comment on Tuesday! Good luck!

Two very pretty cards! I really like the first one, because I have both of those SSS kits. Thanks for the inspiration!
