Good morning! Today I’m joining two of my favorite crafty people: Gina Krupsky and Lydia Fiedler for a mini blog hop to celebrate the March release from Gina K Designs! There’s a giveaway at each hop stop so make sure to check out the details at the bottom of this post! But first off, have you checked out Gina’s fabulous new release?
Here’s what I created using Hello Beautiful and Lettered and Lovely:
This is one of those times that I wish I could show you all this card in person because the camera just can’t capture the shine of that beautiful sentiment!! I started by stamping the flowers from Hello Beautiful with versamark on watercolor paper and heat-embossing them with silver tinsel embossing powder. I used post-it masks to mask the flowers to stamp the foliage. Then I stamped the sentiment from Lettered and Lovely with versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder.
Then I taped the watercolor paper down to my cutting board and started watercoloring! I used just two shades of red (rose madder and permanent rose) and one blue shade (indigo) from my Mijello mission gold watercolors for the background. I started by adding paint to the center of each flower and then using a clean damp brush to blend the color to the edge of each petal. I added a few layers of color to deepen the center of the flowers. Then I watercolored the background following the same basic steps but adding color to the edge of the panel and blending inward towards the center. Once I got a basic wash of color across the panel I went back and added more color around each flower and blended it out.
Once it was totally dry I masked the flowers with post-its and flicked the panel with white paint. I let it dry completely and then went over each flower with my spectrum noir clear sparkle brush. Once that dried I trimmed the panel down to 4×5.25″ and adhered it to a dark navy card base. Finally I added a few gems to finish the card with a little more sparkle! Seriously guys, this is such a sparkly card…I so wish I could send it to all of you! 😉
Gina is graciously giving each of us a $25 gift certificate to give away! Leave your comments before 11:59PM EST on April 1st, 2018 and the winners will be announced on the Gina K Designs blog on April 2nd! Here are all the stops on our mini hop! 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

I’ve never used silver embossing powder before, except for Christmas. This has inspired me to branch out…

Breathtaking is the only way I know to express my thoughts about this card! You have inspired me to try something like this once the “Easter dust” has settled at my house. Putting the bunny stamps (and grandchildren) back in their cages. Not that I don’t love and enjoy them, but it’s time to make something really pretty. Thanks for this beautiful inspiration.
