Good evening! I’ve been experimenting more with stencils and thought I’d share a quick card I created a few weeks ago! And make sure to check out the bottom of my post for the winner of the Altenew Celebrating Parents Blog Hop! 😉
Honestly the background was intended to just be a practice run but I loved the way it turned out and decided to use it as a base for a card! I started by blending a little cracked pistachio and broken china distress oxides onto the corner of a piece of white cardstock. Then I placed the Hero Arts waves stencil over the cardstock and taped it in place. I smooshed chipped sapphire and wilted violet distress ink onto my craft mat and mixed a little Nuvo moonstone glimmer paste into each color. Then I carefully spread the blue glimmer paste onto the top corner of my card and then blended in the purple paste. I cleaned off my spatula and then applied the natural moonstone glimmer paste from the opposite corner and blended it into the colored paste.
While the background dried I worked on the rest of my card. I stamped the sentiment from Hey Love onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then I stamped the large sentiment onto vellum, heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder, and then die-cut it with the coordinating die. Once the background was totally dry I adhered the sentiment to the card with liquid adhesive and then added a sprinkling of sparkling clear and silver sequins.
It’s totally not a look I was going for but I really like how it turned out! I’ll definitely have to do some more experimenting with creating custom glimmer paste colors! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
