Good morning and welcome to the Hero Arts 2017 Wintertime Fun Catalog Blog Hop! All of the catalog products are now available at the Hero Arts shop and we’re celebrating with lots of inspiration from our creative team and special guests! I have two cards to share today and many more to come in the next few weeks! 😉
My first card uses the gorgeous Holly and the Ivy wood-mounted stamp. I’ll be honest, I totally read the title of the stamps as Holly and the Ivy, apparently didn’t process that, and decided it was a poinsettia in my mind. But when I realized I colored a holly pink I went googling and discovered that there are a few holly variaties that have light pink or red leaves. So um, yeah that’s totally what I was going for! 😉 Ha!
Anyway, with that, first I stamped it several times on a piece of maroon cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I stamped it once on a piece of vellum and once on a piece of light pink cardstock and heat-embossed them with gold embossing powder. I added a little bit of pale pink and rose pink shading with copic markers and then added spectrum noir clear sparkle to the pink cardstock and to the vellum. I die-cut them with the coordinating dies and then used a stylus to curl up the edges.
I adhered the vellum and pink cardstock to the maroon panel with foam mounting tape. Then I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder on white cardstock. I trimmed that to a fishtail label and tucked it under the pink cardstock. Finally I added a few champagne sequins and applied a layer of nuvo crystal glaze to the berries to finish the card!
My next card uses my absolute favorite stamp set from the catalog, the adorable Color Layering Fox! I have a thing for foxes and this is one gorgeous stamp!
I decided to create a wintery fox and stamped the layers in shades of grey. I die-cut him with the coordinating die and then set him aside while I worked on the rest of the card. Next I blended Summer Sky, Indigo, and Deep Ocean hybrid ink onto a piece of white cardstock and added a tiny bit of black ink around the top edges. I stamped the whole panel with versamark and heat-embossed it with sparkle embossing powder.
Then I stamped the sentiment from Poster Christmas Carols onto a piece of white cardstock and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder. I tore the white cardstock twice to create rough edges. I swiped the edges with my versamark pad and heat-embossed them with white puff embossing powder. I adhered the white cardstock to the ink blended background and then adhered the fox with foam mounting tape.
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away $25 shopping sprees to three lucky commenters randomly selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! That fox is handsome although I am scared of animals like them. Your cards are both gorgeous.

Very beautiful cards. The fox card is stunning!

Great cards! I am making it a personal mission to replicate the sky on your card. I’ve never used HA hybrid inks, but need to get some as the colors they produce are so vivid!

I think the color layering fox might be my favorite, too! I am loving the color scheme you chose, and think the background is a wow factor. Some of my relatives may be seeing something similar in their mailboxes this year 😉

Jess I love both your cards! The holly poinsettia looks great along with the vellum and gold outline stamping. The fox looks so great and so does that pretty background behind him.

So like the triple stamping to give a realistic look to the fox. All the cards are eye catching.
