Good morning! The 2018 Season of Wonder Collection from Hero Arts is now available and we’re celebrating with a big blog hop and giveaways! I’m sharing a few projects using new products from the release!
First up is this adorable polar bear duo! I’ve had a thing for polar bears since I was a young kid…most kids collect brown teddy bears, I only wanted polar bears (which weren’t always easy for my parents to find!). So when I saw this set I was SO ridiculously excited! To start I stamped the polar bears from Polar Greetings on white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I added a little shading with copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies! I also stamped the iceberg on vellum and heat-embossed it with silver glitter embossing powder. To create my background I blended bubble gum, dark quartz, pale tomato, cornflower, stone wash, and navy ink on a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock. I used post-it tape to mask the top and bottom while I blended to create the sky and water. Then I took a piece of white cardstock, ripped it to create a rough “snowy” ice cap and adhered it over the background to cover the line of ink blending. Finally I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder!

My second card uses the fun Paper Layering Neighborhood die to create a card with very little stamping! 😉 I started by die-cutting the paper layering die with white cardstock. Then I took a piece of vellum, laid it over the back of the die, and traced inside the outline of the die. I trimmed off the excess and then adhered it behind the die. Then I used a copic marker to color each of the windows. I let that dry for a bit so the ink wouldn’t smear on the vellum. While that was drying I stamped the sentiment onto dark navy cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Once the vellum was dry I adhered my neighborhood to the navy card panel. Finally I added a little glue and snowfall glitter to the tops of each house and tree to create a snowy wonderland!

My next card uses some of the gorgeous new dies in our release! To start I die-cut the Snowflake Edge Fancy die with silver glitter and white cardstock. Then I die-cut the Holiday Word Fancy die with pool layering paper. I stamped ‘happy’ onto a black card base with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Finally I layered and adhered the dies to the card panel! Simple but striking…you could easily change up the colors for a more traditional red and green palette or go even more crazy with teal and pink…tons of options! 😉
