Good morning! The summer catalog release is now available at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating with a big blog hop! I have three cards to share today using new products from Hero Arts!
My first card features the You Are Beautiful stamp set and some simple copic coloring on heat-embossed images. I started by arranging the floral stamps from You Are Beautiful onto the lid of my MISTI to create a pattern across the bottom of my card. I stamped them with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I turned the card panel around, stuck it back inside the MISTI, and closed the lid to create a fully patterned panel. Then I simply colored the images with copic markers in shades of dusky rose, sunshine yellow, and warm grey.
Next I stamped the sentiment from You Are Beautiful onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used grey copic markers to color an ombre background behind the sentiment and then trimmed it down to a label. I adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape to finish the card.
My second card uses the newly rereleased Succulent Stamp & Cut set. The succulents were previously available as wood mount stamps but now they’re available in clear stamps with sentiments and coordinating dies! To start I used masking paper to stamp and mask the succulents into an arrangement. I stamped them with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I watercolored the plants and pots with Daniel Smith watercolors. Once it was dry I used a craft knife and a straight edge to cut around the stamped images.
Next I blended Grape Juice ink onto a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock and faded it to the top of the cardstock. I added a strip of black cardstock to the bottom of the bristol panel and then adhered my succulents over it with foam mounting tape. Finally I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card with regular ATG adhesive.
My last card was one I was not expecting to like as much as I did…I am 100% NOT a fan of snakes (or really any creepy crawlies) but this stamp was surprisingly fun to play with! A few months ago I shared a cryptic photo on instagram of this “custom” embossing powder blend! 😉
I mixed the black sparkle embossing powder with regular black embossing powder and silver sparkle embossing powder from Hero Arts. Then I used my MISTI to stamp the Slither Bold Prints stamp onto white cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with the custom blend. The result was a sparkly, shimmery black and silver finish that looks positively reptilian!
While I was embossing I also stamped the very appropriate sentiment from an older set, Killer Messages. I used copic markers to color one of the snakes and then added a few ombre green sequins to finish the card!
And that’s it! Three VERY different looks using fun products from the new release! 🙂 I hope I’ve inspired you to check out the new release and make sure to keep hopping with us for a chance to win one of our awesome giveaways!

love your cards!……not so sure about the snake one, though! But for someone who likes snakes, it’s great!
Those are some really different
cards-all fantastic! The snake card
Turned out so cool!
Scared me a little with the snake. Totally wasn’t expecting it. Love the other cards more.
Great cards, especially the snake one. I must get that stamp and try your blend of embossing powders, as I have a nephew who loves snakes. It will male a fangtastic card for his birthday!
Thank you for the tip to use the Misti to create a background!!! I’m not a fan of snakes nor succulents, but your cards are well done. Thank you!
yout cards are lovely
your cards are lovely
So many different designs, love the ideas!
Wow! Your cards and colors are simply gorgeous!!!
Thanks for sharing these fabulous pieces. The succulents are my favorite, but I have some men and boys in my life who would love the snake card!
That was unexpected, LOL! I’m drooling over your amazing watercoloring and gorgeously designed cards – then hello snakes! LOL! Absolutely beautitufl – all of them!
Oh man, snakes! Great card though!
Can’t say I like snakes but I really like the combinations of the embossing powders and how it turned out.
Beautiful cards! Thank you for sharing!
Great ideas.
I must say the snakes are tempting (no pun intended) but what you’ve done with the succulents is amazing!
Your cards are so great! I think the first one is my favorite 🙂
Really love the snake card!
Wow, you are doing all sorts of duty for HA this time around. I hope you got a nice nap after all this! I’m also not a huge fan of snakes, but the embossing powder does look pretty cool. I also really like the first sentiment. I can see myself using that one a lot. Thanks for sharing on so many different sites and platforms!
The boys would love that snake card, I will definitely have to get that stamp….a slithering beauty.
Your “Killer” card cracked me up! Love all your cards!
Omg! I love all three!! I didn’t even notice the snake stamp!! So different..i like it!!
Love your cards (but won’t be making the snake one!) The succulents are so much fun!
As always, you make such fabulous cards. I love the variety of cards you presented. Looking forward to adding some of the new products to my craft room. Living in Arizona, I think I’m quite interested in the ones with the Southwest theme. The only exception is that of the snake (you made a great card but I’m not a fan of these critters). I just saw one on the golf course recently, and it was a rattlesnake. Yikes!
I love the background you designed. Very pretty.
