I shared this card using the My Monthly Hero kit on my blog this weekend:
And today, I’m sharing a stenciled card with the September 2021 My Monthly Hero kit!
I have a video for this card set that you can watch below or over at my YouTube channel:
IF THE VIDEO IS NOT VISIBLE PLEASE CLICK HERE TO WATCH!
To start I placed the layering stencils on a panel of canary cardstock and blended the flowers using Dandelion, Butter Bar, Caramel, and Cup O’ Joe ink. Then I repeated the process with the leaves on a piece of kiwi cardstock using Moss and Forever Green ink. I stamped the outline image with versafine and then heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.
I trimmed the leaves off the yellow cardstock and then layered it on top of the green cardstock so that the leaves were visible. I used foam mounting tape to adhere the flowers to the green cardstock. Then I adhered it to a card base of sand cardstock and added a sentiment die-cut from gold glitter and pitch black cardstock. Finally I finished the card with a few metallic gold sequins!
I created one more card using some of the add-ons from this month’s kit! I started by blending Dandelion, Butterbar, Just Rust, and Pale Tomato ink on a panel of white cardstock in random patterns. I let it dry completely and then stamped the Leaves in the Wind bold prints stamp over the panel with embossing & watermark ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next I swiped my intense-ified black ink pad across the panel until it covered the panel completely. I used a dry cloth to buff the ink off the embossed images leaving behind the pattern in yellows, oranges, and reds! I splattered the panel with gold metallic paint and set it aside to dry.
I die-cut the Autumn Leaves fancy dies from a variety of gold and bronze glitter cardstocks and adhered them to the card base. I finished the card with a sentiment from Autumn Messages stamped on pitch black cardstock and heat-embossed with brass embossing powder. I adhered it to the card over a tangle of metallic gold thread for a little more sparkle!
And that’s it for me! I just adore those beautiful sunflowers! Head over and pick up your September My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!

I cannot pick a favorite! The technique of using the green card stock for the leaves is so simple yet effective, not more visible white border. Sunflower on a black background and the melange of leaves — stunning. Will definitely, have to give the emboss resist a try. You are just brimming with creativity and thanks so much for sharing. Will have to keep a Big eye on you!

Hi, Jessica – Your cards are spectacular! The one w/ the black background is especially arresting– you always know how to use supplies to every advantage for maximum visual appeal. Gorgeous! I also love the leaf card. Very pretty and lots of interesting aspects to it that engage the recipient or (in my case) the viewer. You always teach me something new and I just love your work!! TFS!!
