Good morning! We’re kicking off the countdown to the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit!
I started by die-cutting that fabulous storefront window from Adriatic cardstock and then used copic markers and colored pencils to add a little extra shading and dimension. Then I used an embossing pen to add a little brass embossing powder to the store front for a bit of a patina-ed effect. I also stamped a sentiment from the kit and heat-embossed it with brass embossing powder.
Next I stamped and colored the beautiful Christmas tree and background using copic markers. Then I took a piece of acetate and added snow to the windowpanes with a white gel pen, clear lacquer and snowfall and icicle glitter. I adhered the acetate behind the teal storefront and then adhered that to my Christmas tree scene to finish the card!
And that’s it for me! Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the October My Monthly Hero kit all weekend long!! And then I’ll be back Monday with the full kit reveal!!
For a chance to win a kit before you can buy it, just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, October 4th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Wow, oh wow! Jessica this card is beyond words! The thought & special touches you put into it makes it stand out above the rest. The way you shaded the interior wall to make it look like there is a glow around the tree is unreal. Such talent. I love the detail the “wood” on the storefront has.
