Good morning and Happy 2021! We’re starting the Hero Arts January My Monthly Hero Countdown today and I’m sharing a bright and cheery card using this fun new kit!
This kit is a fantastic way to bring in the new year! Cheery, cute bumblebees, encouraging sentiments, gorgeous florals, (and more you’ll see on Monday)!! To start, I stamped the flowers and bees with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I colored them with copic markers and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I used colored pencils to add some details to the flowers. I adore those chunky little bees!
Next I blended a little splash and blue hawaii reactive ink onto a panel of white cardstock using blending brushes. I stamped a sentiment from the kit with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used copic markers to match the colors of the reactive inks and colored the outline of my floral image. I trimmed my blended panel down to 4″ by 5.25″ and then adhered it to a dove white top-folding card base. I used foam mounting tape to adhere the flowers. I lightly creased the bees’ wings and used a single layer of foam tape under their bodies and a double layer under their wings for a little dimension. I finished the card by adding clear lacquer to the bees’ wings for a little extra shine!
And that’s it for me! Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the January My Monthly Hero kit all weekend long!! And then I’ll be back Monday with four more cards using the kit!
For a chance to win a kit before you can buy it, just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, January 4th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend
