Good morning! We’re continuing the countdown to the Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit!
You’ve likely seen the full coverplate die included with the kit and I wanted to show a fun way you can selectively trim off parts for a completely different look! I decided to trim off the people and their balconies and leave these cute little “cat perches” instead! I blended a background with navy, cornflower, and pale tomato ink and then stamped the sentiment and cats from the kit with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I added the coverplate die on top with a little liquid adhesive!
And that’s it for me! Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the December My Monthly Hero kit and then I’ll be back Monday with the full kit reveal!
For a chance to win a kit before you can buy it, just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, December 6th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!

Beautiful ink blended back ground. It is interesting to see different ways to use parts of dies cuts, as well as other supplies, to get different looks. Really great simple sentiment and goes great with the silhouette cats on the balcony.

Hi, Jess – Love your adaptation of the die cut with the lines of laundry. I like that but I think I like your version even better (I have four cats!).
