Good morning! We’re continuing the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Countdown today and I’m sharing a bright and cheery card using this gorgeous new kit!
I just love the overall feel of this kit! It’s just perfect for tropical daydreams! I decided to keep my card simple (and one layer!) with some cheery ink-blending and copic coloring! First I stamped the palm trees, coconuts, and umbrella and used masks of post-it notes to add layers to my stamping. Then I blended Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Berry Smoothie, and Grape Slush reactive inks across the top of my panel to create my sky. I masked off a middle section and blended Splash, Pool Party, and Blue Raspberry for my ocean.
Once the ink was dry I removed the masks and colored my images with copic markers. I wanted my coloring to be a little whimsical and relaxed so most of my blending is much less subtle than normal and I think it fits the images nicely. And since it’s hard to fussy cut the palm tree masks perfectly there are little spots where white shows through…I actually kinda think it helps give them some natural “highlights.” After I finished coloring I added a few more accents with a white gel pen. Then I stamped a sentiment from the kit with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder to finish my card!
And that’s it for me! Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the February My Monthly Hero kit all weekend long!! And then I’ll be back Monday with a slightly less peaceful card using the kit!
For a chance to win a kit before you can buy it, just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, February 1st, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend

Beautiful card Jessica — and I love the “messiness” of the palm trees too! My son and his family just announced they are moving to FL so I better get used to cards like these — so I guess I need this kit! 🙂 (Surprise, surprise!)
