Good morning! The 2020 Catalog release from Hero Arts is now available and we’re celebrating with a big blog hop and giveaways! I’m sharing three cards using some of my favorite new products from the release!
Okay, to start off, I am LOVING the citrus trend that’s going around these days!! So when I saw the Fresh Citrus Bold Prints background stamp I fell hard! I stamped it with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I colored the panel with copic markers and finished by coloring the entire background a dark royal blue!
Next I used the new Infinity Nesting Squares to cut two squares from Dove White cardstock and vellum. I layered them together and turned them before adhering them to the panel. Then I die-cut the Thinking of You from Mustard cardstock and adhered it to the squares to finish the card!
And continuing on my citrus obsession, I stamped the same Fresh Citrus background stamp onto Canary cardstock with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I blended Lemon Drop and Creamsicle Reactive Ink around the edges of the panel. I buffed the excess ink off the powder and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I stamped images from Zest Wishes with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Again I die-cut squares of vellum and white cardstock but this time I stamped a sentiment from Zest Wishes onto the white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I arranged my citrus on the squares and then adhered them to the background panel. To finish the card I added a little crystal glaze to the center slice and the flower stamens!
Then I switched gears a little to play with my other new love of the 2020 catalog: Color Layering Scapes! There are three so far, lavender, tulips, and sunflowers and they are SO much fun! And there are so many fabulous color options for each one! Just line the layers up on your MISTI and you’re ready to go! 🙂 Here’s a sneak peek of some of my Color Layering Scape cards.
Today I’m focusing on the Lavender Fields Color Layering Scape! To start I stamped the lavender layers using Passion Flower and Grape Juice ink. Then I stamped the greenery with Lime Green and Fresh Lawn Ink.
Next I blended a little Soft Purple along the horizon. I didn’t bother masking the lavender because the soft purple just blends right in! Then I followed that with Cornflower, Indigo, and Soft Navy ink. I stamped the sentiment with Grape Juice ink and then let the panel dry. Once the panel was totally dry I stamped the clouds with embossing ink and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I stamped them again with embossing ink and heat-embossed them with white puff embossing powder. The extra layer of white puff gives the clouds a fun texture!
And that’s it! I highly recommend checking out the new release! Besides these gorgeous products there are brand new pigment inks, more color layering scapes, stand-alone fancy dies, so much goodness!!! I’d love to know your favorites from the new release!
