I shared this card using the kit on my blog this weekend:
And today, I’m sharing two cards using the kit and several of the fantastic add-ons here!
I have a video for my first card that you can watch below or over at my Youtube channel:
For my first card I wanted to create something inspired by my love of The Walking Dead and the new Graveyard Heroscape is the perfect set!! I blended a spooky sky with Grape Slush, Soft Granite, and Charcoal ink and then added the moon from Color Layering Moonlit Sky with Soft Granite, Charcoal, and White Satin Pearl embossing powder. I also added the bats with Intens-ified Black ink!
Next I used my MISTI to stamp the Graveyard Heroscape layers in the same Soft Granite, Charcoal, and Intens-ified Black ink. Then I created my scene with the trees, zombies, and gravestones. I finished the card by adding a sentiment from the main kit! I just love the feel of this card!!
And here are the supplies for my first card:
My next card uses the main kit and I wanted to show a slightly spooky different look from the first card I shared this weekend! With a few simple changes you can really alter the feel of the kit!
It’s like the moon is rising from my first scene and suddenly that scarecrow looks just a little more ominous, right? 😉 So I started by stamping the layers of the kit using Just Rust for the bottom pumpkin layer, Cup O’ Joe for the details on the pumpkin, Raspberry Jam for the solid ground and pumpkin lines, and Forever Green for the leaves. It’s like a slightly darker version of the first card. Then I added the corn layers with Soft Vanilla and Cup O’ Joe. I masked off the circle for my moon and then blended my sky with Soft Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Cup O’ Joe, and Intens-ified Black ink.
Once I was done with the sky I removed the mask and added a little Soft Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie ink around the moon to soften the edges and add some dimension. I dried that with my heat gun and then placed the mask negative around the moon. I swiped my embossing ink pad over the moon and heat-embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder. Next I stamped my scarecrow with Cup O’ Joe and Intens-ified Black ink and die-cut him with the coordinating die. I inked the edges with Soft Vanilla and Cup O’ Joe ink so the edges would blend in with the background. Then I swiped a little embossing ink around the the edge and heat-embossed it with the same gold glitter embossing powder. I added him to the scene with foam mounting tape and it looks like there’s just a little bit of moonlight reflecting off him! I added the sentiment heat-embossed with gold on black cardstock and then finished the card by adding one of the jack o lantern stamps to one pumpkin! It’s just a tiny bit spooky (compared to my zombie card) but definitely changes the overall feel of the kit!
And that’s it! I’ll be back tomorrow with another video featuring the Happy Autumn Forest add-on but for now, head over and pick up your September My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today!

That swipe of ink across the moon just “makes” this card! I would be terrified it would look splotchy….but y’know, I might just try it anyway when my kit comes in. Thanks for the Inso! The dark mood of these has got me feeling all fall-y!
